Puck originally started as a university newspaper comic way back in the prehistoric days of 1998. It was reborn in 2011, and is now running weekly, in color. You can see the original run of eighty strips AND the new colour strips all here!
This strip is #41 in a series dating from my university days. Puck ran weekly for three full years in the Silhouette, McMaster University’s student newspaper.
What can I say? This joke is lame. I even tried to make a joke OUT OF the lameness of this joke, but I’ve since decided that making fun of your own lameness is kind of lame too. (Is it even politically correct to use the word “lame” this way anymore? I suppose not. That’s kind of lame too.)
The drawing in panel two stinks. It’s sad, but that seems to be a recurring problem in this strip: close-ups. I guess I was so used to drawing the characters ultra-small (each panel was only about four inches high in the original) that when I increased the scale, everything fell apart.
