After drawing this, I realized something: why would they even hang out on their porch in such a neighborhood? For the warm ambiance? The fresh industrial air? It’s a mystery.

And on that day, many children started to swear like sailors, making their mothers faint from their language.

Considering all my friends are sailors, I'm more than used to this kind of language.

Actually, it's been my experience that people in such neighborhoods hang out on the porch all the time. I've even seen people yell conversations with people on a porch at the end of the block.

I'd look askance too if someone next door was actually shouting hash, percentile, ampersand and dollar sign. Is that what crack does to you? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

@godmoderncommander: Bad influences are best sort of influences to have.

@Riv: Which makes me wonder... Is swearing like a sailor worse than swearing like a trucker? I wonder if anyone's ever studied that.

@CharrGrilledAznable: Mine too. I had friends who used to live on the edge of sketch. We hung out on the porch all the time. The whole neighborhood did. Again, I'm not sure why, but it seems to be an established practice.

@darknoon: This ... is your profanity. And this is your profanity on drugs. Any questions?

I thought they were watching Reality TV. Is Jerry Springer sti
ll on?

D.Durand (Guest), October 2nd, 2012, 5:28 pm

Maybe because poor peoples have only crap things in in their crap house ?

I mean, without Internet, I would be out all the time, too.

darknoon, October 3rd, 2012, 5:49 am

This is your profanity. And this is your profanity on ASCII

"Hey man, they said I could score some ASCII here?"

"Who the #@$#%$^ told you that?"

ElectricGecko, October 3rd, 2012, 8:34 am

@Lilyblack: You know, I was wondering the same thing the other day. I don't really have a TV so I can't rightly say, but I haven't heard the name 'Jerry Springer' in a while. How could our society survive without him?

@D.Durand: Well, Puck's house is pretty nice on the inside, so that wouldn't apply here. And with Daphne in the building, I'm sure it's WIFI-enabled out the wazoo. The REAL reason they're hanging out on the porch is the fact that I get sick of always putting them on the couch.

@darknoon: ASCII - the hardest addiction to kick.

D.Durand (Guest), October 3rd, 2012, 6:23 pm

" And with Daphne in the building "

Oh, yes, that's a good reason, you're right...

I guess the crack biz isn't doing so hot.

ElectricGecko, October 8th, 2012, 5:17 pm

@c_arnold: You know you're living in a city with a depressed economy when even the crack business is failing.
