It occurs to me that Puck and Daphne are really very similar characters, though they differ in terms of maturity and experience. Puck, being the older, worldlier woman, would know better than to ever expect a man to side with her on this point. Daphne, on the other hand, still has a lot to learn.

I actually had to put a great deal of research into the proper spelling of ‘Boop-oop-a-doop.’ Now if you ask me, it sounds WAY more like ‘Boop-oop-BEE-doop’ in the cartoons, but Fleischer studios has a whole cartoon named ‘Boop-oop-a-doop’, so I guess that’s canon. Mind you, studios have been wrong of the spellings of their characters’ phrases before. Warner Bros. always claimed the Roadrunner said “Beep beep,” but the original voice actor insisted (quite correctly) that the sound was more a “mheep mheep” than a “beep beep”. I guess it looked too weird on paper. But anyway … I’ve digressed so far that I’m totally lost.

Oh, and for those of you who want TWO Phoebe Halloween costumes in one week…

New Voting Incentive! It’s Halloween … BATMAN-STYLE!!! A new costume EVERY WEEK!
Each week of October will bring with it a new Batman-themed costume on one member of the Puck gang. The fourth one’s up now, so VOTE! At long last, it’s Phoebe! She’s wearing the Catwoman suit! This is not false advertising!

I have no complaints about Halloween. Does anyone have complains about it?

*Has a bloody nose*

Well done!

Girl, get some clothes on.

Personally, I'm going in an outfit that covers my entire body.

It's October, not July.

Watch where you point your wand...
I went to a Halloween Party this weekend. Apparently Hogwarts is now a reform school for slutty Catholic girls.

And of course the advertisement on this page? Sexy Halloween costumes. All showing pretty much the same amount of skin as Phoebe.

@godmoderncommander: I think we can all agree that we are complaintless here.

@freakshowmonkey: Hey, someone noticed! Cool! Daphne's t-shirts are now wandering from 'esoteric' territory to 'what the $%&#?' territory, so if someone gets the ref, I'm unduly happy.

@Riv: Such girls dress to spite the weather. Discomfort, common sense and modesty will never stand in the way of their smexy. Ever.

@David: I never know what to make of that - when the overly sexy outfits tread upon the territory of children's entertainment. Like, what are they THINKING?

@Nobi Wan Kenobi: Well, at least they're thematically appropriate.

Not to speak of the Lone Ranger and "Hi yo, Silver, away!" versus "Hi ho..."

Phoebe looks adorable.

Grace (Guest), October 23rd, 2012, 5:04 pm

The Stuff! I LOVE that movie!

ElectricGecko, October 23rd, 2012, 9:13 pm

@Lilyblack: They always get it wrong, don't they? But I'm glad the Phoebe magic works.

@Grace: Someone else knows it! You get the 'got the obscure reference' award! I wanted something vaguely Halloweeny. The Stuff fit the bill.

I am surprised...
I expected her MOM to go by in a skanky outfit :)

ElectricGecko, October 26th, 2012, 11:45 am

@MrTTAO: Really? Puck would NEVER wear some skimpy Halloween outfit. And when pregnant? That would turn the joke in strange, odd and quite possibly disturbing directions.

MrTTAO, October 26th, 2012, 1:31 pm

I hadn't considered the pregnancy until after saying so. But it could have been a flashback from last holloween when she wasn't pregnant. You have jumped around in time a couple of times before.

My first thought was indeed that puck would refuse to dress skanky for holloween. But we have seen her feminist ideals falter before or have big blind spots.

And finally, even if out of character it makes the joke funnier. Authors often bend the character's persona a bit to fit the joke (although that is a bad thing to do... so its better you didn't)

ElectricGecko, October 26th, 2012, 5:19 pm

@MrTTAO: All valid points. I try to remain loyal to the characters' personalities - unless it's some goofy voting incentive that may or may not exist in an alternate reality.
