I’m not sure this joke really works. I’m not sure that this strip is really anything other than an excuse to put Tracee in a ‘sexy nurse’ costume. (Hey, at least I’m honest.)

The SECOND February Voting Incentive is up! Git yer ANTI-VALENTINES!

A vote for Puck on TWC will get you exclusive access to the first two in a fine line of anti-valentines cards just ready for printing and distributing! Tell that special someone to go away … the easy way! A new valentine will be popping up each week, so vote!

And for those who missed out on older voting incentives, they’re now all available at the STORE for a mere pittance! A pittance, I say!

At least he has a sexy nurse to entertain him.

Interesting Tablet
Is that an apple-like product Sigmund is using??? I KNEW that company was in league with the devil!!

You're surprised?

Michael Corley (Guest), February 4th, 2013, 11:21 pm

Never has sweet loving made the bowels move so.

ElectricGecko, February 5th, 2013, 8:06 am

@godmoderncommander: Alas, even that is not enough to make the hospital experience an enjoyable one.

@gumby_dammit223: That's not an Apple product; that's a BAD Apple product. (You'll notice there's a worm coming out of the Apple.) Bad Apple: providing tech products to Satan and his minions since 1998!

@Grudgesettler: I'm always amazed at the widely held belief that Apple is a 'good' company.

@Michael Corley: Yeah, that's... Nah, I don't have a witty retort for that one. The possibilities are all just too disturbing.

At least you have access to the internet now to get visual representation for a sexy nurse costume, unlike Phoebe's "sexy maid" costume back in college.

ElectricGecko, February 5th, 2013, 8:40 am

@Hitokiri Akins: You are so very, very right. And I must admit that I had to scroll through pages and pages ... and pages of sexy nurse outfits on Google Images before I felt like properly understood the tao of sexy nurse. Now THAT'S hard work for you.

gumby_dammit223, February 5th, 2013, 8:41 am

Heh, was trying to figure out if it was a worm or horns on the apple.

And with regard to the costume, never did a big, bosomed bimbo look so good!

They Fired Their Boss ( or what ever you like to call it )
@gumby_dammit223: They even fired the guy who started the company in the first place. I'm pretty sure good isn't a word they like to use very often.

Where does the cartoon and costume fiction come from that nurses, even tarty pseudo-nurses, wear red crosses on their caps? Not that they wear caps any more, and haven't for years.

Marnath (Guest), February 5th, 2013, 12:06 pm

Isn't that his daughter's friend? How did that conversation go, "Hey, would you be willing to go do your sexy nurse routine for my daddy in the hospital to cheer him up? Thanks!" ? Asking your friend to do that has got to be at least a little awkward, even for her.

ElectricGecko, February 5th, 2013, 12:10 pm

@Wolfman1000: Bad Apple is even worse, if you can imagine that.

@Lilyblack: I find it thoroughly fascinating that such weird visual cues remain intact in our culture for so long. For instance, prisoners in cartoon jails still wear black and white stripes, even though prisoners haven't worn that outfit since the Chaplin days. Heck, if might have been outdated then!

I think the red cross on the cap thing comes from WWII-era Red Cross nurses. They were pretty iconic and it just imprinted on pop culture.

@Marnath: I don't think Phoebe has anything to do with this whole sordid affair. She keeps a good distance from her father's wicked ways.

Lilyblack, February 6th, 2013, 6:14 pm

I did some research, and those uniforms were Red Cross volunteer Nurses' *Aides*, not trained nurses at all!

ElectricGecko, February 7th, 2013, 8:49 am

@Lilyblack: Well then, I'm being very accurate here because I'm pretty sure Tracee is NOT a trained nurse. In fact, the very concept of her being tied to the important field of healthcare gives me the chills.

Heh, me, too :D

Nobi Wan Kenobi (Guest), February 7th, 2013, 3:57 pm

Opted not to go with the classic "sponge bath" joke...

ElectricGecko, February 7th, 2013, 8:29 pm

@Nobi Wan Kenobi: Oddly enough, the sponge bath concept didn't even really occur to me. Possibly a missed opportunity?

Nobi Wan Kenobi (Guest), February 11th, 2013, 9:17 am

I guess changing the line now would make the "stewed prunes" comeback sound a bit weird.
