Puck originally started as a university newspaper comic way back in the prehistoric days of 1998. It was reborn in 2011, and is now running weekly, in color. You can see the original run of eighty strips AND the new colour strips all here!
BIG NEWS!!! THE PUCK BOOK IS READY AT LAST, DAMNIT!!!
It’s been many months in the making, but I’ve finally got the Puck book up and ready for orders! It’s in color, it’s big, it’s beautiful, and it’s only $24.99! It includes +200 comics and a bunch of never before seen extras documenting the early stages of Puck’s creation. For instance, did you know that at an earlier stage of development, Phoebe had goat legs? And for a brief period in history, Puck and Phoebe were a pair of futuristic buddy cops? It’s all in the book!
. I am aware that the significance of this revelation loses its potency if you don’t know who Elizabeth Taylor is, and I’m sure some insanely large percentage of my readership doesn’t know who Elizabeth Taylor is, but I don’t care. She’s only quite possibly the second most famous actress ever to come out of Hollywood. Google her.
Those who do know who Elizabeth Taylor is will be wondering about the logistics of all this, but it’ll be explained soon.
I was on the fence whether to have the portrait out of frame, or whether to actually try my hand at drawing a real person adapted into the Puck style. In the end I opted to be brave, though I’m not entirely sure the result is a success. Oh well. When you’re trying to draw one of the most beautiful women the world has ever produced, you have to expect some level of failure, I guess.
